Shareholders of Harris & Harris Group, Inc., may be interested to know that Nanosys, Inc., a privately held company focused on developing nanotechnology-enabled products, today announced that it has raised approximately $40 million in a private equity financing. The financing was led by El Dorado Ventures and includes other new investors, as well as existing investors including Harris & Harris Group. Nanosys will use this funding for the ongoing development and manufacturing scale-up of products that incorporate its proprietary, inorganic nanostructures with integrated functionality for multiple industries. Harris & Harris Group invested approximately $3,000,000 in this round of financing, bringing its total investment in Nanosys, Inc., to approximately $4,500,000. Harris & Harris Group is a publicly traded venture capital company that makes initial investments exclusively in tiny technology, including nanotechnology, microsystems and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
