Harris & Harris Group, Inc., announced today that it has invested $950,000 as part of a $7 million follow-on secondary round of financing by privately held NanoGram Corporation (www.nanogram.com). Harris & Harris Group originally received shares of NanoGram Corporation as a spin off from NeoPhotonics Corporation, in which Harris & Harris Group is also an investor, in April of 2003. In May of 2004, Harris & Harris Group invested $50,000 in NanoGram Corporation in the form of a convertible bridge note. NanoGram Corporation is a developer and licensor of core process technology enabling the manufacture of unique nanoscale compositions for optical, electronic, defense, display and energy applications and products. The company has developed extensive intellectual property that is expanding the boundaries of nanomaterials technologies by enabling the development and manufacturing of new generations of materials, devices, components and applications. Harris & Harris Group is a publicly traded venture capital company that now makes initial investments exclusively in tiny technology, including nanotechnology, microsystems and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).
